Wakefield House

South Australian Government were looking to replace the existing backup generator the building was first built with back in 1976.

The scope of works included upgrading the generator size to a Pramac GSW415V open frame with the integration of a 200kW auto load bank for maintenance. The existing fuel system was upgraded with a new fully automatic pumping station. DGS had the challenge of removing roof sections to allow for the extraction of the existing Detroit generator from the 19th floor plantroom and installing the new infrastructure into its new home.

The project was delivered with all expectations exceeded and the look of the open set within the plantroom adds an extra element of mechanical style.
